Ready for Spring.
The irony of these shorter days is that they seem twice as
long to me. Every autumn, I find myself wishing I could curl up and hibernate
until the spring comes again. I'm missing long, warm days with grass between my
toes and sunshine on my face.
Shooting a wedding the first weekend in October was
fantastic. Seeing bright, glowing faces, happiness, love, joy, it was
wonderful. Every wedding I photograph reminds me of the day my best friend
became my husband.

Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Zimmerman!
On July 14th, Nathaniel and I had the great honor of
photographing the wedding of two old friends, Andy and Lindsey. It felt like a
big reunion - so many people were there that I haven't seen in years.
Check out more photos on my facebook page!

Gardening Garden Fiends
Nathaniel and I have been working on the garden and finding such a simple and rewarding joy. In front of the house there are mammoth sunflowers, cosmic orange blossoms and morning glories, to climb the side of the house. In the garden plot we have a myriad of vegetables and a place in the back where morning glories will climb the deer fence and make a beautiful little getaway for us. It's been a lot of fun.
On Sunday, I met with a couple getting married in August. It's always so nice to hear about the different plans and ideas couples come up with to make their special day Theirs. Weddings are so beautiful and I'm always excited to be a part of them!

Fresh Starts
I'm looking forward to a lot in 2012! In just a few weeks I am so excited to be photographing the arrival of beautiful new baby just outside of Oley. In a few months, two of my childhood friends are getting married. Two different brand new beginnings and I get to be there for both! I can't wait!

20 Weeks.
It's taken long enough, but a photo gallery is finally in the works. It's kind of funny to me that my passion was so firmly rooted in pregnancy and birth photography before I ever became pregnant. These last several months have been a really amazing affirmation that this is what I want to be doing. I love our baby - I love this 'mommy' feeling that's growing and developing with this little person inside of me. It's such a surreal, truly incredible experience. This photo was taken today - I'm officially 20 weeks pregnant. Five months, how did that happen???
Stay tuned for details on this gallery! Every penny will be going towards the cost of a natural home birth, which is not covered by insurance. Incidentally, all compensation for my photography services currently is being allocated for this purpose as well. So if you have an event coming up - a wedding, a birthday party, an award ceremony, anything - or if you'd just like some up-to-date family photos, be sure to let me know!

Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Dennery!
Saturday was a big day for me! Nathaniel and I got up around 6:45 to get ready for our trip to Washington D.C. where we attended the vow-renewal ceremony of my cousin and her husband. The service was absolutely beautiful and although I promised I wouldn't lose it, I did start crying halfway through!
We couldn't stay after the service because we had to get back home to Philly in time to shoot an old friend's wedding. If Saturday was a big day for me, just think - Alyssa and Ted got married!
What a beautiful couple. I don't think I'll ever get tired of shooting weddings - I love seeing the happiness and joy that two people share together. Alyssa and Ted were absolutely glowing all day, it was amazing. I was so honored to be able to document this big day in their lives!

Weddings!
I love weddings! Ever since I was in my own I tend to think they're just about one of the best things that can happen in life!
I am so honored and excited to be shooting the wedding of an old friend and her fiancé in just over two weeks! They are such a sweet and happy couple and I wish them all the best in the world.

Man and wife!
I'm officially Alexis Ryan, at long last. August 22nd, 2010! Our photographer will be sending us pictures soon and I'll share a few.
My husband and I had the pleasure of shooting a wedding together the day after we got home from our honeymoon, which went beautifully. And school is back in session, so I'll be busy with editing, homework, and life as a wife!
Despite all that, I'll do my best to keep you updated on here. This upcoming Sunday I'll be photographing Matt Franchetti at Smoke Eater's - he's campaigning for Republican PA State Representative, so if you're registered in the area, make sure you get out and vote!

All you need is love!
Sorry there haven't been many updates in recent days. Life has been so busy. My fiancé and I visited the location for our reception on Thursday - it is truly like something out of a fairy tale. You drive down a long, winding road in the middle of the woods until it dead ends in a valley by a creek and right there, where the road stops, is the most beautiful little inn on earth. It's perfect.
Yesterday we looked at an apartment that we both really love and that fits our budget beautifully... and it's right across the street from where I am now! Whew, but a long move that'll be. =P We're so happy - everything is really coming together.
Today, we found out that some friends from church are getting married next week and the congregation is invited... which means I can see what an Orthodox wedding looks like! How amazing! What layers of blessings we are receiving - I'm so grateful.
I can't wait for August!!!
