I am so honored and excited to be shooting the wedding of an old friend and her fiancé in just over two weeks! They are such a sweet and happy couple and I wish them all the best in the world.
When Nathaniel and I shot our first wedding together I was really nervous. Although I was very familiar with shooting formal events I knew that the 'big day' is always different. And on top of that, I was working for family. So there was a lot of pressure to do well. The lesson I have taken away is don't work for family. Everyone was wonderful, the wedding was beautiful, the bride was stunning... but I was so stressed out about letting down my family that it was hard to step back and relax.
I'm really excited to shoot this wedding. I don't feel that stress or pressure, just total happiness for the couple getting married. And this time around I have some actual 'wedding' experience under my belt so I know what to look for. I can't wait!!!
